(Frankfort, KY) - There's a new state law regulating name, image and likeness deals for college athletes in Kentucky.
University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari and football coach Mark Stoops were there Wednesday when Governor Andy Beshear signed the bill into law.
Beshear was the first governor in the nation to sign an executive order last June to immediately allow student athletes to receive such compensation after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the NCAA and its rules on benefits for scholarship athletes.
Calipari previously called the legislation a model for the rest of the nation.
