Wisconsin Football Pulls Scholarship Offer From Commit For Ridiculous Reason

This is the first time I've ever written about the Wisconsin Badger football program and it very well may be the last. No one would consider the Wisconsin program a college football power house, but they've actually been one of the best teams in the Big 10 over the past half decade or so.

Now that I've slightly complemented the Badger program, allow me to poke fun.

I know very little about Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst, but from what I can tell, he seems a little sensitive. Chryst and his staff decided to pull a scholarship from a kid who had been committed to their program for an insanely stupid reason.

Three star quarterback Ben Bryant Tweeted out over the weekend that he'd picked up a scholarship offer. One day later learned that he no longer had a scholarship to the school he committed to in December.

“I got a call this morning from Wisconsin saying that there’s no longer a spot for me there because I posted that I got another offer,” Bryant tells Scout.com. “Very disappointed.”

If Tweeting out that you've picked up scholarship offers from other schools is a deal breaker, Paul Chryst may have a tough time signing a recruiting class in 2018. Those who follow recruiting know that this is a very common thing and most recruits send out a Tweet every time they get an offer or meet with a coach.

Lighten up, Paul.
