Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Brady Quinn addresses the "Twitter Beef" that went viral between him and Deshaun Watson's personal quarterback coach, Quincy Avery, after Brady questioned Watson's desire to play.
Brady Quinn: "I try to be objective about all this. I have nothing out for Deshaun Watson. In fact, when he signed that deal, even though it was questionable under the circumstances which he signed it, I was like this is great for football. This is great for players. Deshaun Watson, in one contract has done more for players as far as trying to push the envelope forward to guarantee contracts than anyone in the history of the NFL.
Now that being said, how this whole thing is playing out, it's the first time we've seen something like this, so we're now getting to a point where maybe this isn't gonna work out so well for others because of how the last year went [and] how this year is going so far.
...
We've said this before, only they know the true specifics to the injury and what he's dealing with. If it's for mental health too, he needs to get himself in the right headspace he needs to in order to play and be the player that they're hoping he'll be.
So we can have those conversations about all of this, but the reality is if people are going to make a big deal about tweets and all that, like I'm here for fun. I'm not sitting on Twitter and trying to sit there and have some serious conversation about it and if you can't laugh about it, make fun of it, I'm sorry, you don't have a sense of humor. You need to go find something to laugh about and enjoy in life... It's crazy to me how people react to something like social media."
