Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff responded after pop superstar Taylor Swift name-dropped him during her appearance the New Heights podcast alongside her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, this week.

"Very cool, I guess," Goff said via the Detroit Free Press. "Crazy couple of hours last night for me and my phone. Kinda cool."

Goff, who was recently featured on the Netflix docuseries Quarterback, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Jared Allen, the 2025 NFL MVP who recently married Academy Award nominated actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, were referenced when Swift recounted her lack of football knowledge prior to dating Kelce, having asked him about lining up opposite his brother during Super Bowl LVII, before he explained both were offensive players and on the field at opposite times.

"I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here, and Josh Allen’s here," Swift said. "They’re gonna be like, they blow a whistle, and they go at each other, and they’re like 'grrrr,' and it's like, who’s gonna win?"

Swift's New Heights appearance was reported to have garnered 379 million views on Instagram, 61.6 million views on X, 34.5 million views on TikTok and 15 million views on YouTube 1.3 million live views, while the episode's high viewership crashed its live stream, with the most concurrent podcast listeners ever, according to Front Office Sports. New Heights also surpassed 3 million Instagram followers and added more than 400,000 new YouTube subscribers since the episode aired.

Swift said she participated in the New Heights interview because it was her "favorite podcast" and joked that it "got me a boyfriend."

"This podcast has done a lot for me, I owe a lot to this podcast. This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago," Swift said, referencing Kelce saying he attempted to give her a friendship bracelet when he attended her her 'Eras Tour' concert at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Chiefs, prior to their relationship.

Swift then revealed that Kelce "didn't even reach out to our management" when he and quarterback Patrick Mahomes attended the concert.

"He came with Pat and he thought that cause he knows the elevator lady that he could talk to her about just getting down to my dressing room," Swift said.

"Yeah, that's how it works, you just go," Jason joked before laughing.

"That's how it works in 1973," Swift responded. "But yeah, he really was just like, 'yeah, I know a guy, I can figure this out.'"
