Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was injured during the final drive of his team's 34-29 Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil Friday (September 6) night.

Love, 25, who signed a four-year, $220 million extension in July, was helped off the field by Packers staff with six seconds remaining and was replaced by backup Malik Willis. The former first-round pick appeared to be dealing with a lower leg injury.

Love finished Friday's game with 260 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 17 of 34 passing. The former Utah State standout enjoyed a breakout season in 2023, his first as the Packers' full-time starter after four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets last offseason.

Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the Packers to a 9-8 record during the regular season, as well as 466 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in two playoff games.

Love's new annual salary of $55 million ties Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars for the highest among all NFL quarterbacks. Willis was acquired by the Packers in a trade with the Tennessee Titans last month, having previously thrown for 350 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions, while also recording 144 yards and one touchdown on 32 rushing attempts in three career starts and 11 appearances.
