LOUISVILLE, Ky, - Louisville football is losing a top running back for the rest of the season.
Third year sophomore Javian Hawkins announced on Twitter he will be opting out of the remainder of the season and will focus on the 2021 NFL.
Hawkins, who missed last week's game at Virginia, has accumulated 822 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in seven appearances this year.
Head coach Scott Satterfield said Hawkins was not part of the Virginia game plan due to a COVID-19 quarantine and he believes that may have been a big part of his decision to opt out.
